I got into travel because someone believed I was the right person for it, before I did, and it turned out she was right. Since then I've helped hundreds of families, couples, groups, and wedding parties get somewhere they'll never forget, and I've never once pulled a recommendation from a list I didn't trust completely. I've been to the destinations, walked the resorts, asked the questions most people don't know to ask, and I bring all of that into every trip I plan, whether it's a first family vacation or a 'once in a lifetime' celebration.
Hi, I'm Kristin, and yes, I still get excited when a client tells me where they want to go.
My story started in 2013 when I was working with a travel advisor myself for my family’s second trip to Walt Disney World. She called me one day and asked if I would consider coming to “work” with her as she was starting her own agency and wanted my expertise in Disney and my detail oriented mindset as her right-hand in her new endeavor. We had become close friends through the two trips she had planned for our family and I kept her on her toes planning my trips. HA! I decided talking about The Mouse and helping others with the complexity of Disney trips sounded right up my alley, so I said YES! Helping people is in my soul and this seemed to align with my personality and attention to detail.
It started with a random phone call
I, myself, have taken trips to many destinations and feel that each one has contributed to the way I think of travel and making memories that I want to share with others.
I'm not going to send you a questionnaire and disappear. We're going to have a real conversation, about what you want this trip to feel like, what matters most, what your budget actually is, and what would make it a disappointment. From there I do the work and come back to you with options that make sense, explained in plain terms.
I stay in it the whole way through. I'm in touch with resort teams before you arrive, I handle the details that would otherwise fall on you, and I'm reachable if anything comes up. The goal is that by the time you leave for your trip, the only thing left on your to-do list is to pack.
I'm based in Austin, 18 years and counting, and yes, I love being close to a great airport. I'm married with two sons, a bonus daughter, and three grandchildren who I'm already mentally planning trips for. When I'm not in travel planning mode I'm working three days a week in the mother/baby unit at our local hospital, tending to my orchids and tropical plants, or honestly just dreaming about where I'm going next.
Hawaii and Costa Rica have my whole heart, the Hawaiian aloha spirit, the volcano and hot springs in Costa Rica, the sound of waves that makes everything else go quiet. But the Caribbean and Mexico are where I spend most of my time, both personally and professionally, and that firsthand familiarity is a big part of what I bring to every trip I plan.
My love for this job comes from the same place my late mother taught me
She was always the first to show up, the first to help, the first to make someone feel taken care of. I think about her every time a client tells me their trip was everything they hoped it would be.
The honu is my spirit animal Slow down, show up, and enjoy where you are
